Ideally, cast stone veneer from Best Stoneworks is the last thing you install on your wall. Siding, windows, doors, fireplaces, mantels and other finishes should all be correctly in place before you begin installing the stone.
Water barrier
Water is the enemy. It is imperative that water not be allowed to get behind the stone. This will cause water damage in the building and will weaken the bond between the stone and the wall.
Typically real stone is installed from the ground level up to the soffit. This is beneficial it is unlikely that water will get behind the stone if the stone is tucked under a soffit.
When the veneer installation is a wainscot, install a drip edge and sill, which will channel water away from the wall. Sills should also be placed below windows.
